QA & WHSE Information

Our QA, WHS and Environmental Management Systems are subject to regular ongoing audits at two levels:

  • Internal audits and
  • External audits by BSI Group (accredited by JAS ANZ).

These audits are conducted in accordance with a predetermined audit schedule.

Federal Government Safety Office Accreditation

The Federal Safety Commissioner (FSC) works with industry and government stakeholders towards achieving the highest possible occupational health and safety standards on Australian building and construction projects.  Aquatec Maxcon is proud to have achieved FSC Accreditation.OFSC logo

Only builders who are accredited under the Scheme can enter into head contracts for building work that is funded directly or indirectly by the Australian Government.   The Scheme sets high benchmark standards for accreditation, including:

  • demonstrated senior management commitment to WHS;
  • integration of safe design principles into the risk management process;
  • whole of project WHS consultation and communication;
  • demonstrated effective subcontractor WHS management arrangements across building and construction projects;
  • whole of project performance measurement; and
  • WHS training and competency to deal with safety risks.

Quality Assurance

Aquatec Maxcon has third party accreditation to ISO 9001:2015. Our Quality Manual is available for inspection upon request at any time.

Aquatec Maxcon is committed to Quality Assurance and achieving Continuous Improvement. To this end, we implement a Project Quality Plan according to AS/ISO 9001. Quality Policy

Work Health and Safety

Aquatec Maxcon has third party accreditation to ISO 45001:2018. It is the aim of the company to protect all employees and visitors to the site as far as is possible by the elimination of hazards or by the taking of steps to isolate hazards and minimise risks.

Aquatec Maxcon employs a specialist Safety Officer to implement our policy and ensure compliance with legislative requirements. This is usually undertaken through review of (or preparation of) a Health and Safety Plan as part of the Quality Plan for the construction.

All employees are required to be inducted into the company and undertake our OH&S training course. This addresses safe work practices, incident reporting and recording, injury management and rehabilitation, infection control, auditing and inspection procedures, consultative policy, hazardous substances, manual handling, electrical safety and isolation, confined space entry protective equipment, etc.

Site specific work instructions are developed in consultation with staff members and an ongoing program of training and internal auditing is maintained. The result of this is reported to the Board by Management.

Environmental Policy

Aquatec Maxcon has third party accreditation to ISO 14001:2015. Aquatec Maxcon recognises the importance of environmental issues and in particular gives much status to the following:

  • The impact of the project on the Global Environment;
  • The potential impact of the construction methods on the general site environment and perimeter 'ripple' effect; and
  • The potential impact of the end user on the facility with reguard to safety, easy functioning of operations and the general amenity of the work place.

Our objective is to maintain compliance with, and exceed the requirements of the State and Federal environment obligations. This is achieved through design and implementation of specific Environmental Management Plans for the construction phase.

We make our employees aware of their obligations and responsibilities and also seek to develop a workplace of environmental awareness. This is as essential as water conservation, treatment and delivery which are all integral parts of the environment in the community. This approach seeks to address all plant impacts including water, soil, and noise with specific emphasis on plant residuals.

All employees are given specific training concerning their environmental responsibilities and the performance of environmental measures are monitored. Regular environmental risk assessments are made.

Suppliers and subcontractors are also made aware of their obligations and held accountable through formal procedures.
