First major Australian design and construct WWTP (Cameron Bay, Tasmania, 30,000 persons).

1986

First major anaerobic industrial wastewater plant completed (Golden Circle Cannery in Brisbane) and first municipal potable plant constructed in Brisbane.

1989

First major New Zealand design and construct WWTP (Porirua, New Zealand, 75,000 persons).

1990

First contract for plant operations.

1992

First Indonesian job (PT Freeport Indonesia, Irian Jaya).

1993

Order for Australia’s largest municipal fine bubble diffuser contract (Geelong).

First major industrial process water project (Stanwell Power Station).

1994

First Singapore project (Mobil Refinery).

1995

First BOOT plant completed (Jakarta).

First design and construct project for nutrient removal (Bunbury, Western Australia. 25,000 persons).

1996

First Indian project (Bombay).

Order for worldscale 2,000 litres per second potable water plant (Surabaya).
First Australian I.C.Anaerobic Reactor (NB Love Starches, Brisbane).

1998

AquaBlade – first Australian fine bubble membrane diffuser and test tank.

First Power Station Ultra Pure Water contract (Mt. Isa).

1999

First direct re-use plant from treated sewage effluent to demonstrate feasibility of processing to drinking water quality (Southeast, QLD).

IC anaerobic reactor and oxidation ditch for world’s largest powdered milk factory, Te Rapa, NZ.

2001

First Australian membrane bioreactor for treatment of sewage (Magnetic Island, QLD).

First Alliance Contract with Maroochy Water to build a sewage plant extension.

2003

Selected for Coffs Harbour WRP Alliance. Total value $23m.

First contract awarded exceeding $60m – Brisbane Water Enviro Alliance – three sewage treatment plant upgrades – Oxley Creek, Sandgate and Wacol (QLD).

2004

First Membrane Bioreactor installed in New Zealand in Clandeboye.

2005

Awarded the Townsville Citiwater Alliance to upgrade Horseshoe Bay, Cleveland Bay and Mt. St. John WWTP's.

Case Earth award for projects >$10m in NSW awarded for the Coffs Harbour Alliance.
Selected for repeat alliance at Maroochydore.
Selected for further alliance for Coffs Harbour Water Reclamation Plant and Karangi Water Treatment Plant, Approximate value $80m.

2006

Brisbane Water Enviro Alliance expanded to include $20m thermal sludge hydrolysis plant and $23m Wynnum WRP.
First Malaysian project - Clarifier for Selinyih WTP, Kuala Lumpur.

2007

Selected as the principal constructor for the Brisbane Caboolture Aquifer Alliance to treat the water from six water borehole fields around Brisbane and Caboolture Shire with a contract value of $93.7m.

2008

Initial orders from the Coal Seam Gas industry for 120 gas micro-turbines and MF / RO for water treatment.

2009

Delivered major industrial water re-use facilities for Castlemaine XXXX, Visy Smithfield and Smiths Snackfoods.

BCAA expanded to include the Enoggera WTP, three pump stations and Chlorination Plant.

Received Australian Institute of Project Management 2008 Project of the Year National Winner for Brisbane Water Enviro Alliance.

2010

Successful commissioning of a three megawatt power station to run a reverse osmosis water treatment plant for the coal seam gas (CSG) industry.

Further MF / RO skids for the coal seam gas (CSG) industry.

Commissioning of Australia’s first micro-turbine power generation facility at Surbiton Park Sewage Treatment Plant in Victoria, producing renewable energy from the biogas generated from the sludge digester.

2011

Successful delivery of several turnkey projects including all aspects of process, design and proving, mechanical, electrical controls and civil construction for projects in industries serving municipal water and wastewater treatment and coal seam gas membrane facilities.

2012 

Commissioning of Australia's largest UV disinfection system at Melbourne's Eastern Treatment Plant.

Award of 30,000ep MBR plant, Ballina, NSW.

Increased investment in Thailand manufacturing facilities.

2012

Successful completion on time of the 3.9 km of vacuum insulated pipes for QCLNG, meeting all Bechtel requirements.

Entered into long term supply agreement for wellhead micro-turbines for APLNG.

 2012

Successfully delivered 170 micro-turbines to remote locations for the coal seam gas industry.

 2014

Successful delivery of several design and construction projects including a second brewery plant for National Foods at Tooheys in Lidcombe, NSW,  14ML/d Water Treatment Plant for Centennial Coal and wastewater treatment plants at Hughenden and Miles.

2015 

Awarded first Nereda® aerobic granular sludge wastewater treatment plant at Kingaroy, QLD and selected for demonstration of Nereda® technology at Melbourne’s Western Treatment Plant.

2016

Awarded Yarra Valley 100T/d biomass digestion facility; the first municipal facility of its type in Australia.  Aquatec Maxcon introduced the innovative Weltec Biopower technology to the Australian Water industry through the design and development of this facility in Victoria.  The plant won the 2017 “Best International Commercial Plant Award” by the British Anaerobic Digestion Association (ABDA)at the 2017 UK AD & Biogas Industry awards.

 2016

Completion of the Kingarory Wastewater Treatment Plant, QLD; the  first of its kind within Australia to use ground-breaking Nereda® technology.  The $25 m plant was built on time, within budget and won the 2016 Engineering Excellence Award for Projects over $10 million.

 2017

Aquatec Maxcon develops a novel anaerobic Membrane BioReactor (MBR), which in collaboration with Trisco Foods, is tested at pilot scale with excellent results. The technology is recognised by the QLD government and receives funding to increase the pilot plant to commercial demonstration scale.

 2017 Awarded the Black Gully Wastewater Treatment Plant design and construction project in Emerald, QLD.
 2017

Aquatec Maxcon receives Australian Federal Government Safety Office WHS accreditation. The Federal Safety Commissioner works with industry towards achieving the highest possible occupational health and safety standards on Australian building and construction projects.

 2017

Winner of the 2017 QLD Australian Water Association “Infrastructure Project Innovation Award” for the successful delivery of the Kingaroy Wastewater Treatment Plant upgrade.

2018

Mr Peter George Ferrando appointed to the position of Managing Director starting on 5th February 2018. Peter has over 25 years’ experience in the construction Industry, including 17 years with Aquatec Maxcon. 

2018 Charters Towers Regional Council awarded Aquatec Maxcon a contract for the design and construction of a Water Treatment Plant with the output capacity of 300 L/sec, ~21 ML/day.  Aquatec Maxcon has commenced preliminary design with practical completion scheduled for mid 2019.
2018

Sydney Water selected Nereda® as the technology for the Quakers Hill Water Recycling Plant (WRP) upgrade, as part of the $450 million Lower South Creek Project. Once commissioned, Quakers Hill WRP will service 223,000 EP within the Western Sydney catchment. 

2018

Maxcon Industries, the manufacturing and fabrication division of the Aquatec Maxcon Group, has been presented with the Weld Australia Fabricator of the Year Award, 2018. The Weld Australia Fabricator Award 2018, was presented to Maxcon Industries at the Australian Steel Institute Steel Industry National Excellence Awards on the 5th December.

2018

October 2018 - Whitsunday Regional Council has awarded Aquatec Maxcon a Design and Construction contract to upgrade the Bowen Sewage Treatment Plant. The current plant will be upgraded to incorporate a 14,000EP Membrane Bio-Reactor, odour control, noise mitigation and aerobic biosolids stabilisation and recycled water facilities.
